City Attorney

Adam Lindgren was named City Attorney in 2006 after beginning his City career as Assistant City Attorney in July 2003. One of his main responsibilities is to provide legal advice regarding City matters to the City Council, City Manager, City staff, commissions, and boards.

Adam and the attorneys he supervises, represent the legal interests of the City. His tasks for the City include providing advice at City Council meetings, negotiating contracts, advising the City on employee matters, drafting new laws for the City, and representing the City in lawsuits filed against it.

Adam has been a member of the Meyers Nave law firm since 1998. His past employers include McCutchen Doyle law firm and the U.S. House of Representatives. In 2005, Adam was named Northern California Super Lawyer by San Francisco Magazine . He is co-author of a leading textbook for lawyers and planners, “California Land Use Practice,” that is updated annually by the Continuing Education for the Bar.

Adam earned a B.A. cum laude from Columbia University and a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center when he was a Public Interest Law Scholar. He is a member of the State Bar and the League of California Cities. He belongs to the Rancho Cordova Rotary, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Cordova Community Council. His law firm is a supporter and sponsor of the annual Air Show, the 4th of July celebration, and other community events.
