We recognize the challenge of finding housing resources, whether rental or ownership, in the City of Rancho Cordova. The purpose of this site is to serve as a resource to the community, providing information on affordable housing resources located within our City.
Please select one of the links below to see resources for the type of housing you are interested in.
Rental Housing Resources
There are several multifamily rental complexes within Rancho Cordova that are designed to serve low-income residents. Some of the properties offer housing to people who have vouchers from the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency (SHRA), while others were built using tax incentives offered to developers by the federal government.
SHRA is the City’s public housing authority, and they are a good first point of contact for households in need of subsidized housing. They offer both a voucher program and a conventional housing program. More information is available on their website or by calling (916) 440-1390.
The complexes listed on this website maintain a certain percentage of rental units at affordable rates for occupancy by low-income families. This site provides contact information for each rental complex. Contact each complex directly for up to date vacancy and rental information.

Homeowner Housing Resources
The City of Rancho Cordova has several programs designed to assist low-income homeowners in repairing and maintaining their homes. The City’s current programs are funded by a Community Development Block Grant.
Emergency Repair Loan Program
The Emergency Repair Loan Program provides forgivable loans to low-income homeowners to make minor repairs to their homes. Up to $5,000 is available to mobile home owners and up to $7,500 is available to single-family home owners. Interested homeowners can download the application or call Sarah Bontrager at 916-231-3354 to request an application.
Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program
The Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program provides low-interest loans to homeowners who earn up to 80 percent of area median income. The City is currently in the process of developing guidelines for this program. If you are interested in being added to the waiting list, please call Sarah Bontrager at (916) 231-3354.
Affordable Homeownership Programs
If you are interested in homeownership within the City, we encourage you to explore the many programs offered by the California Housing Finance Agency. Many of their programs offer low-interest loans for low-income and first-time homebuyers. They also offer many financial resources for persons looking to become homeowners.
The City will update this site with additional information on affordable homeownership programs as it becomes available. Please check back soon for more information.
