Walks with Rancho Cordova Mayor Promote Fitness, Camaraderie
Posted Date: 7/21/2010
The next Neighborhood Walk with Rancho Cordova Mayor Ken Cooley is on Saturday, July 24th. The starting point will be Navigator Elementary School that is located at 10679 Bear Hollow Drive. Light refreshments will be served at 8:30 a.m. and the walk will start at 9 a.m.

“Community walks are a great fit with the ‘Great Health Challenge’ campaign that is going on in our City,” said Mayor Cooley. “All walking helps fitness but these walks are really just about enjoying the morning with neighbors and community leaders, so that we and our community grow stronger and more fit.”

The walks, which began in April and will continue through October, are about one mile in length and take place in different neighborhoods throughout the City. Adults, seniors, teens, and parents with their children are invited to join in the leisurely paced walks.

“The habit of exercise and the better health it offers highlights the benefits of our community’s Great Health Challenge which is to collectively lose ‘20 Tons in 2010’,” said the Mayor.
