As more residents, businesses and fleets make the switch to electric vehicles, the City of Rancho Cordova is developing an Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Needs Assessment and Network Plan to better understand where charging is needed most and how to expand access across the community.

The plan development includes a special event for the residents to share their perspectives on electric vehicles, ask questions and test drive an EV or ride as a passenger. Individuals who complete a test drive will receive a voucher for a $12 discount from Farmers Market vendors.

The plan's aim is to help identify gaps in the current charging network, explore barriers that residents and businesses may face, and recommend future locations for EV chargers throughout Rancho Cordova. A key focus of this effort is making sure charging options are convenient, reliable and accessible for everyone, including residents who live in apartments or multi-family housing, businesses, fleets and neighborhoods that may have limited access today.
