The 4rd Annual California Capital International Documentary Film Festival will take place August 8 and 9, 2026.

The film festival is Northern California's premier celebration of documentary filmmaking and the only festival in the region dedicated exclusively to documentary films.

Organized by the Rancho Cordova Film Office, the official film office for the City of Rancho Cordova, the festival is proud to be supported in part by a Community Enhancement and Investment Fund Grant from the City of Rancho Cordova. This partnership reflects the city's ongoing commitment to supporting arts, culture, education, and community engagement through film.

Festival screenings take place across multiple venues throughout Rancho Cordova and the surrounding area, including Rancho Cordova City Hall, the Rancho Cordova Youth Center, and Fat Elephant Theater in Historic Folsom. Together, these venues provide audiences with a welcoming and intimate environment to experience some of the finest documentary films from around the globe.
