The City of Rancho Cordova and Republic Services are Offering a $1,000 Scholarship

The City of Rancho Cordova and Republic Services, a national recycling and solid waste service provider serving over 2,700 municipalities and communities, are offering annual scholarships to three graduating high school seniors who plan to pursue college degrees in the fields of environmental science, engineering, or political science.

To be eligible, graduating seniors must live in the City of Rancho Cordova and attend a high school within City limits. Three selected students will each receive a $1,000 scholarship.
To apply for this scholarship, eligible seniors must answer the following question:

What environmental issue do you find most relevant and how would you propose to address it?


Please submit an essay of 1,000 words or less with this scholarship application to Johnnise Foster-Downs at no later than April 15, 2019.
There is no minimum Grade Point Average (G.P.A.) required to apply for this scholarship.

A selection committee comprised of representatives from Republic Services and the City of Rancho Cordova will select scholarship recipients. Scholarships will be awarded at the end of the 2018-2019 school year.

Deadline to submit an application is April 15, 2019.
