Spring Service Day Impact

Post Date:06/14/2024 9:08 AM

The day started with lively music and high-energy performances as over 300 volunteers gathered at Rancho Cordova City Hall for the first-ever Spring Service Day on Saturday, May 18, 2024. The City of Rancho Cordova, Rancho Cordova In Action, community partners and volunteers put their unique skills to work at 15 different project sites to enhance the Rancho Cordova community.

“Rancho Cordova is known for its civic spirit and for having residents that actively engage in volunteerism,” said Mayor David M. Sander, Ph.D. “We are grateful for successful partnerships with Rancho Cordova In Action, partnering organizations, sponsors and volunteers who made Spring Service Day possible.”

Projects included a shred and e-waste event, a pet vaccine clinic, making home repairs for residents, book cleaning, landscaping at the Rancho Cordova Youth Center and community art projects. Volunteers also sorted donations, packaged food items and hygiene kits for distribution.
