Pedal Your Way Through Rancho Cordova

Post Date:03/18/2025 1:00 AM

Spring is just around the corner, and with beautiful sunny days ahead, there’s no better time to dust off your bike and explore Rancho Cordova’s incredible trails. Whether you’re looking for a scenic ride along the river, a peaceful path through nature, or a long stretch to rack up the miles, there’s a perfect route waiting for you.

  • American River Parkway

One of the best places to ride in Rancho Cordova is the American River Parkway. This beloved trail offers miles of smooth, scenic riding along the American River, making it a go-to for both casual riders and serious cyclists. Whether you’re starting at Hagan Park or cruising toward Lake Natoma, you’ll enjoy stunning river views, plenty of wildlife, and a truly relaxing ride.

  • Hagan Park

Nestled along the Parkway, Hagan Park is a perfect starting point for your ride. With ample parking, picnic spots, and access to the larger trail network, it’s a great place to begin or end your biking adventure.

  • Stone Creek Community Bike Trail

Looking for a short but unique ride? The Stone Creek Community Bike Trail near Bear Hollow Basin offers a peaceful ride where you can watch planes take off from nearby Mather Airport while enjoying the sights and sounds of local wildlife.

  • Folsom South Canal Trail

For riders looking to stretch their legs, the Folsom South Canal Trail provides miles of uninterrupted biking alongside the canal. This trail runs from the southern tip of the city all the way to Nimbus Dam and Lake Natoma, making it perfect for a long-distance ride with scenic water views.

  • Anatolia Preserve Trail
One of Rancho Cordova’s hidden gems, the Anatolia Preserve Trail winds through open space between the Kavala Ranch and Anatolia neighborhoods. This time of year is especially magical, with lush green landscapes, grazing cows, and a variety of bird species to spot along the way.

As more people take to the trails and streets on two wheels, Rancho Cordova is working to make biking even better. Through the Active Transportation Plan (ATP), the city is looking at ways to improve bike paths, add safer crossings, and create better connections between neighborhoods and key destinations—like the Barrel District!

We want to hear from you! If you’ve ever wished for an easier or safer way to bike, walk or roll to your favorite spots, now’s your chance to share your thoughts. Visit www.cityofranchocordova.org/walkbikeroll to provide input and help shape the future of biking in Rancho Cordova.

With so many great trails and paths, Rancho Cordova is the perfect place to hop on your bike and explore the great outdoors. Whether you’re looking for a leisurely afternoon ride or an all-day cycling adventure, there’s a route here for you. So pump up those tires, grab your helmet, and enjoy the ride.
