In Rancho Cordova, we’re dedicated to caring for all who call our community home, including our furry friends. This week, we are celebrating our Animal Services team for the work they do every day to help keep pets and wildlife safe and supported!

Our Animal Services team plays a vital role in elevating animal care across the community through education, outreach, and the thoughtful enforcement of local and state laws. They also take care of more than just our pets, they help support Rancho Cordova’s wildlife such as raccoons, owls and skunks.

“We care deeply about the animals and the people in our community. From reuniting lost pets with their families, to safely assisting local wildlife, our goal is to keep animals healthy, protected, and supported,” said Senior Animal Services Officer April Stevenson.

For Rancho Cordova residents, the city’s Animal Services team offers:

• Free pet licensing
• Reunification for lost pets
• Investigation of animal cruelty and neglect cases
• Care for sick, injured, abandoned and unwanted animals
• Pet adoptions
• Free microchipping, spay and neuter services, pet vaccine clinics throughout the year, and pet I.D. tags
• Financial assistance through its Animal Services Assistance Program (ASAP), funded by a grant from U.C. Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and other donors
