The Cardroom Tax is a license tax on the privilege of operating a cardroom within the City of Rancho Cordova. The tax is enacted solely to raise revenue for municipal purposes and is not intended for regulation.
Effective January 1, 2015, the tax rate is 3% of annual gross gaming revenues up to $5 million and 4% of annual gross gaming revenues over $5 million. The Tax and Statement of Revenue form and check are due before the 30th day following the end of each quarter. If the tax is not paid on or before the due date, interest of 1.5% per month will be assessed and due.

Sales Tax Transparency and Reporting
State law requires the City to report certain information each year about any tax revenue sharing agreements.
Under Revenue and Taxation Code Section 7213 and California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA) Regulation 1808, all local agencies must submit a Tax Revenue Sharing Agreement Reporting Form to the CDTFA by April 30. This form is filed electronically and includes details about any qualifying agreements from the previous fiscal year.
This reporting requirement was established by Assembly Bill 2854 (Chapter 561, Statutes of 2018), which added Section 7213 to the Revenue and Taxation Code to increase transparency and accountability around local tax revenue sharing.
