The City Clerk Department publishes the Council meeting agendas, documents all of the laws that are made, prepares for Council meetings, administers elections, and keeps all of the important City records.
Rancho Cordova has a Council/Manager form of government. Citizens elect five City Council Members at large who serve four-year terms. The City Council meets in regular session on the first and third Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.

The Facilities Division strives to provide a safe, healthy, and productive working environment and ensure all facilities and their operations comply with current laws and regulations
The Finance Department provides valuable financial information about Rancho Cordova for its citizens, regulatory agencies, and other City departments.
The Human Resources Department plays a major role in creating and maintaining an engaged and integrated team of City and contract staff that provide high quality service to the community of Rancho Cordova.
Information Technology is responsible for providing centralized automated information processing, telecommunications, and network services to all departments and divisions within the City.
This group of professionals oversees the day-to-day business of making the City run. In addition, they engage in long-range planning to ensure that projects fit within the Citywide Goals.
The Neighborhood Services Division consists of Code Enforcement and Animal Services. They focus on preserving and revitalizing Rancho Cordova neighborhoods and helping residents access City services and programs.
The Rancho Cordova Police Department is working to make the City of Rancho Cordova a safe place to live and work by forming partnerships with its citizens and businesses. The City contracts for police services with Sacramento Sheriff's Department.
Public Works' mission is to provide residents, business professionals, and visitors with safe and efficient transportation systems, quality utility provisions, and modernized environmental services to support the quality of life goals identified by our city leaders.
