Rancho Cordova City Hall remains open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM as an essential service facility but with some modified services due to the COVID-19 crisis. The city’s Development Services Team continues to be available to process your project entitlements, permits and inspections as follows.

New Project Applicants

New project applicants can submit applications and plans electronically via email. To submit your information electronically, simply click on one of the email links below.

Existing Project Applicants

For existing project applicants, the city already has generous extension policies in place should your project not be able to move forward at this time.

Building Permit Extensions

Building permits are valid for 365 days from permit issuance, and another 365 business days from the time work begins. For building permit extensions, submit a written request to the Building Official explaining the need for an extension. The Building Official can grant permit extensions in 180 day increments. Entitlement Application Extensions

Current approvals such as design reviews, conditional use permits, administrative use permits, and adjustments are valid for three years from the date of final approval. Approvals are eligible for an extension of up to 12 months on a single extension. The cumulative extension time granted shall not exceed 36 months. The Planning Division will be proactively providing a 12-month extension for projects nearing their expiration date. Building Inspection Services

All normal scheduling processes continue. To conform with public health needs, some building inspections may be done remotely using teleconferencing tools or other means.
