The City of Rancho Cordova receives Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Housing (HUD) that supports needed services in our community, including programs for seniors and disadvantaged youth.
Plans and Reports
The city is required to produce three plans and reports that provide information on how the city will spend CDBG funds, projects that have received CDBG funding, and accomplishments.
The City of Rancho Cordova has released its Draft 2026 Annual Action Plan (AAP) for public review. The plan is available for a 30-day public comment period, and public comments are welcome.

Your feedback is vital in helping shape programs and services funded by the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
2026 Notice of Funding Availability and Application Process
The application period for the 2026 CDBG program year will be open from Friday, July 25, 2025, through Tuesday, August 18, 2025, at 5 PM. Eligible organizations include non-profits and public agencies. The city anticipates receiving approximately $600,000 in CDBG funds for the 2026 CDBG program year including $100,000 in reallocated or rollover CDBG funds from previous years. The program Application, Instructions, and NOFA notice are linked below. Successful applications will address significant needs within the city and must meet the qualifications outlined in the Application Instructions available below. If awarded, funding will be available January 1, 2026.

Additionally, a virtual Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) workshop will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at 2 PM to discuss the city’s CDBG funding cycle and application process for CDBG applications in the 2026 program year. If you have never received CDBG funds from the City of Rancho Cordova, you are required to attend this meeting. Following is the meeting information:

2025 Annual Action Plan
In 2025, the city received $677,844 in CDBG funds and re-allocated approximately $45,000 in unspent prior year funding. As part of the Annual Action Plan process, the city held a virtual public meeting on September 6, 2024, to gather feedback from our community on the use of CDBG funds and guide the application approval process for the 2025 program year. The city approved 6 programs out of the 8 submitted.

The CAPER provides information on programs that were funded and accomplishments each year. The 2024 CAPER is available for public review and comment here.
Consolidated Plan
The Consolidated Plan is a five-year strategic plan on how the city will spend funds and strategies to respond to community identified needs.
