Construction Projects

CalGreen building standards and the Rancho Cordova Municipal Code both require construction and demolition waste to be properly managed for diversion from landfill disposal. Projects that must comply with these standards include new construction, demolition projects and tenant improvements with a permit valuation greater than $250,000.

Additionally, for non-residential projects, CalGreen Section 5.408.3 mandates that 100% of trees, stumps, rocks, and associated vegetation and soils resulting primarily from land clearing, be reused or recycled.

The City of Rancho Cordova has developed Waste Management Design Guidelines to provide best practices for the design of waste enclosures, ensuring proper waste collection service and the methods to comply with construction and demolition materials management.

Temporary Debris Box Service

Temporary debris box service can also be utilized for cleanouts of houses/properties. These containers need to be placed on private property whenever possible. If it is not practical for this to occur, you must apply for a Street Use Permit
