The division of land in the City of Rancho Cordova can occur in one of three ways: through a Subdivision Map, a Parcel Map, or a Minor Land Division Map.

Tentative Subdivision Maps (TSMs) allow the subdivision of land into more than four parcels for residential, commercial, or industrial purposes. Proposed maps are evaluated for consistency with the California Subdivision Map Act, the City's General Plan, Municipal Code, Zoning Ordinance, applicable Specific Plans and other related City standards. Consideration of a TSM is a discretionary act. Approval is determined through a public hearing process with the Planning Commission.

Final Map

The Final Subdivision Map must conform to the approved tentative subdivision map and the Subdivision Map Act, and must be prepared by a registered civil engineer or a licensed land surveyor. To file the Final Map, legal descriptions, the final map, and plan check fee made payable to the City of Rancho Cordova must be submitted to the Public Works Department.
