Free College Funding for RC Residents and Veterans

Rancho Cordova helps eligible residents with the cost of attending Folsom Lake College

Rancho Cordova high school graduates and local veterans may qualify for help covering eligible college costs at Folsom Lake College for up to two years! 

The application period for 2026-27 closed August 1, 2026. Information about the next application period will be posted here when available.

Quick eligibility check 

You may qualify if you: 

  • Live in Rancho Cordova. 

  • Graduated high school or earned a GED between July 1, 2024 and June 30, 2026, or are a U.S. military veteran. 

  • Enroll in at least 6 units at Folsom Lake College, the Rancho Cordova Center, or the El Dorado Center. 

  • Submit FAFSA or CADAA and demonstrate unmet financial need. 

  • Pass at least 6 units with a C or better each semester to stay eligible. 

What can RCCP help cover?

College costs add up. RCCP can help. 

Eligible students may receive up to $886 per semester for up to four semesters, depending on eligibility and funding requirements. 

  • Tuition / enrollment fees 

  • Health services fee 

  • Student representation fee 

  • Universal Transit Pass fee 

  • Other eligible support through the program

    Start your college application through CCCApply. 
  • Step 3: Submit FAFSA or CADAA 
    Financial aid paperwork is required to determine eligibility. 

Frequently asked questions

Do I have to graduate from a Rancho Cordova high school?

No. You must live in Rancho Cordova, but your high school does not need to be located in Rancho Cordova.

 

Can veterans apply?

Yes. Rancho Cordova veterans may qualify whether they are new or continuing students.

 

Can I attend part-time?

Yes. You must enroll in at least 6 units.

 

Do I need FAFSA or CADAA?
