The City of Rancho Cordova and Rancho Cordova Travel & Tourism are beyond excited to announce that Rancho Cordova will host the Stage 2 Start of the 2019 Amgen Tour of California on Monday, May 13! This is the first time Rancho Cordova has been selected as an Amgen Tour of California Host City. The City will welcome a Tour de France-style cycling road race to Rancho Cordova as part of the tour across the state.
The Men's Stage 2 Start of the 2019 Amgen Tour of California will kick off on Prospect Park Drive in front of our iconic Rancho Cordova City Hall! Heading east from the start, the route will follow White Rock Road through the City of Rancho Cordova, ending 121 miles later in South Lake Tahoe. Click here for a map of the Stage 2 race route. Join us to watch the Stage 2 Start at Rancho Cordova City Hall, 2729 Prospect Park Drive! The excitement starts at 8 AM with a free festival, featuring meet-and-greets with the riders and teams, booths and musical performances by Rancho Cordova organizations and businesses, and more.
At 9 AM, the on-stage festivities kick-off featuring ceremonies and announcements.
At 10:05 AM, the racers will line up along Prospect Park Drive for the start of the race! Rancho Cordovans of all ages and local businesses can line the route on White Rock Road and cheer on the riders as they begin their 120.9 mile race to South Lake Tahoe.

Prospect Park Drive between White Rock Road and Gold Center Drive in front of Rancho Cordova City Hall will be closed on Sunday, May 12 and Monday, May 13.
White Rock Road between Prospect Park Drive near Rancho Cordova City Hall and our eastern City limit near Nimbus Road will be closed on Monday, May 13 as the Men’s Stage 2 Start kicks off. All driveways exiting onto White Rock Road along this route will be closed as the race passes. Click here for a map of the race route and road closures.
|Following is a current schedule of road closures along White Rock Road (times are approximate):|
|9:45 AM - 10:10 AM||The race will turn from Prospect Park Drive onto White Rock Road heading east at 10:05 AM.|
|9:56 AM - 10:11 AM||The race will cross Prospect Park Drive at 10:06 AM.|
|9:57 AM - 10:12 AM||The race will cross Kilgore Road at 10:07 AM.|
|9:58 AM - 10:13 AM||The race will cross Sunrise Boulevard at 10:08 AM.|
|10:00 AM - 10:15 AM||The race will cross near Old White Rock Road at 10:10 AM.|
|10:05 AM - 10:20 AM||The race will leave Rancho Cordova on White Rock Road near Nimbus Road at 10:15 AM.|
|Once the tail end of the race passes each of these points, roads will immediately be re-opened.|
Emergency vehicles will not be impacted by the closures.

The parking lot at Rancho Cordova City Hall will be closed on Sunday, May 12 and Monday, May 13 for the event.
Event parking will be available in the parking lot at 10850 White Rock Road, until filled. Bike valet parking will available at Rancho Cordova City Hall at 2729 Prospect Park Drive, until filled. Click here for a parking map.

The 2019 Amgen Tour of California is a Tour de France-style cycling road race created and presented by AEG. Rancho Cordova will be one of 13 Host Cities selected for the 14th edition of America’s premier professional cycling stage race set for May 12-18, 2019.
