City Hall Is Open

City Hall remains open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. City staff who can work from home are doing so to do their part, and those who are at City Hall are wearing face coverings and practicing social distancing.

Permit and Inspection Processes

Our public counter remains open for submittal of plans and issuance of building permits. We will be practicing social distancing in our lobby, which will limit the number of people in our waiting area. We are following the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s guideline for preventing the spread of COVID-19, which includes staff wearing masks when in public areas. Please be sure to follow CDC guidelines, and self-check for symptoms before entering City Hall. Hand sanitizer is provided in several locations, and if you need a mask, we will be happy to provide one at no charge.

To submit plans, you can sign in with the receptionist, and you will be served in order, as listed.  If our lobby is at capacity, or if it is your choice, you may leave a cell phone number with our receptionist, and wait outside or in your vehicle, and we will call you when we are ready to serve you.

We also encourage you to use our online services. You may also email applications and plan submittals to PermitServices@CityofRanchocordova.org. Please email plans and documents as separate .pdf files. Once a permit is issued, you will be able to schedule an inspection online using our online portal. To schedule an inspection for an issued permit, or apply for a simple, miscellaneous permit, click here and follow the instructions provided.

We are still conducting commercial and production home inspections in the usual manner, with appropriate social distancing measures. For private residential inspections, building inspectors are minimizing entry into private residential homes and apartment units unless social distancing precautions can be assured for the health and safety of everyone.

City Licenses

We have modified our business license, rental housing license, and animal license processes.  You may drop off applications at City Hall and a city staff member will work on your request and contact you via telephone if there are any questions.

You may also apply for and/or renew your license via Rancho Cordova Online.  If you have any questions, please call 916.851.8768.

Payments

Payments for city services such as licenses and permits can continue to be made at City Hall or by mail.  Payments for licenses can also be made via Rancho Cordova Online.

Rancho Cordova Police Department

Our Rancho Cordova Police Department’s public safety efforts continue 24/7. The police station counter remains open Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM as an essential service facility. All in-person services are being offered.

A maximum of three people are allowed in the lobby at one time to ensure social distancing of six feet. Disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer are available. In addition, we encourage you to use our online services here, including filing a police report online.
